Minister Opens New Coolroom and Grading Facility

The Hon. Kim Chance MLC, Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will open the new grading and coolroom facility at Golden Egg Farms, Palmyra at 11.30am on Thursday, 12th December 2002.

Golden Egg Farms have installed the latest state of the art egg grading machine built by Diamond Systems of USA. This new computer driven machine is capable of grading 150,000 eggs per hour, which equates to 14 eggs per second. Golden Egg Farms processes in excess of 1,000,000 eggs per day and this new technology will increase the efficiency and capacity of the operation in Palmyra.

The new grading machine incorporates an automatic crack detector that rejects any cracked, broken or second grade eggs, ensuring that only the finest quality eggs are packed for distribution. This new machine will take Golden Egg Farms into a new era of egg processing that surpasses any other machine in Australia.

These upgrades will improve Golden Egg Farms delivery time of the freshest eggs, from the farm to the family in the shortest time possible. Our temperature controlled distribution system includes: collection trucks, grading floor, coolroom facilities and delivery vehicles to ensure that the finest quality freshest eggs are delivered to our customers.

Golden Egg Farms new coolroom facility, which was constructed by Mills and Hassall, has the most modern computerised inventory control system to ensure that the stock is managed to the highest possible standards.

Golden Egg Farms also processes frozen whole liquid egg, frozen egg yolk, frozen egg whites and is Australia’s largest exporter of liquid egg to markets overseas including; Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Hong Kong and the Philippines to which we are expanding our sales on a regular basis.

This new grading machine and coolroom facility will ensure that West Australian families and businesses will continue to be supplied with the best quality and freshest eggs for many years to come.
